The Second Brain Software

Why Notion is the best productivtiy software

Hello,

Today’s post is about Notion. Notion is a tool that I use almost every day because it is just absolutely awesome, and it revolutionized my productivity process.

This is what the interface of Notion looks like

Brief explanation of what the Notion even is:

Notion is a versatile workspace that you can customize however you want. It's designed for writing, planning, and collaboration, offering tools for creating documents, wikis, managing projects, and organizing calendars. Notion aims to consolidate various tools into one platform, allowing users to centralize their knowledge and manage projects efficiently. It supports customization through powerful building blocks and offers multiple views like tables, timelines, and kanban boards for organizing work. Notion caters to individuals and teams of any size, offering solutions for enterprise, small business, and personal use, and it supports multiple languages.

This already sounds great. That’s why I use it every day. But it gets even better! Like almost every software company right now, Notion added generative AI into the mix. Notion's goal of creating one software to replace them all now truly became true. The only reason I left Notion before they implemented AI was to go to ChatGPT. But now I don’t need to do that anymore. Everything I can do with ChatGPT, I can now do directly within Notion.

The topic of WeeklyAI is to teach you how to be more productive with AI. I would say Notion is the perfect way to start. You basically have endless possibilities. For example: I build myself a“second brain” inside of Notion so that I never have to worry about forgetting anything and to make sure I’m always organized.

The problem is, for beginners it can be very hard to fully take advantage of Notion. Except for some templates, you basically don’t have any guidelines that can help you. I faced the same problem when I used Notion for the first time. I had this perfect vision of a workspace that has everything that I need to stay organized no matter what. When I opened Notion for the first time, I felt overwhelmed by all the functionality that it offers. The first thing I did was obviously to look up some YouTube tutorials. These helped a bit and I learned how all the different functionalities worked, but I was still left without any guidelines on how to actually start building a workspace that fits my needs. But after some hours of experimenting, I finally had a result that I was satisfied with and from this point on, it changed the way I handle work entirely.

If Notion feels overwhelming at the start, don’t give up. It will all be worth it at the end. I would recommend that you start off with a template and then go from there.

See you next Friday!
